Privacy Policy
1. Overview
Sales Agent (the “App”) is developed and operated by the WAIR team to help Shopify merchants analyze store visitor behavior, sales and service value, and to improve customer conversion and support efficiency through an AI chatbot.
This policy explains how the App collects, uses, stores, and shares merchant and customer data, and the rights that merchants and end customers have under GDPR, CCPA, and similar data protection laws.
By installing or using the App, you agree to the data practices described in this policy. This page is publicly accessible without login.
2. Data We Collect
1. Merchant account information: store domain, store name, and Shopify merchant ID obtained via Shopify OAuth, used to identify the authorization relationship and provide the service.
2. Behavioral event data: visitor behavior events collected on the storefront via Shopify Web Pixel, such as page views, product views, add-to-cart, and checkout. Events are correlated via the visitorId stored in the visitor's browser cookie and do not contain Shopify customer IDs or personally identifiable information (PII).
3. Order and product data: after merchant authorization, the App reads orders, products, discounts, etc. via the Shopify Admin API to compute sales value, service value, and conversion funnel metrics.
4. Chat records: conversations generated through the in-app AI chatbot (including messages entered by visitors) used for customer support assistance and conversation quality improvement.
5. System logs: server runtime, error, and authentication logs used to ensure service stability and security auditing.
3. How We Use Data
1. Compute and display sales value, service value, and behavioral conversion metrics;
2. Provide context-aware replies and human-support handoff in the AI chatbot;
3. Attribute behavioral events through Shopify Web Pixel;
4. Maintain App security, compliance, and stability, including necessary auditing and troubleshooting;
5. Use de-identified and aggregated data to improve models and service quality. We never sell data directly.
4. Data Sharing
The App does not sell or rent merchant or customer data. In the following circumstances, we may share data on a limited basis:
1. Sharing with third-party systems designated by the merchant after separate authorization;
2. Cloud infrastructure and sub-processors required to deliver the service (e.g., hosting, database hosting), under data protection agreements;
3. The minimum dataset required by law, regulation, or Shopify platform rules.
5. Data Storage & Retention
1. Behavioral event data is correlated by visitorId and retained for 90 days by default, then automatically deleted;
2. Chat records are retained for 180 days by default;
3. Merchant authorization tokens (Sessions) are retained until the merchant uninstalls the App or revokes authorization;
4. After uninstallation, all data related to the merchant is deleted within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
6. Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)
Under GDPR, CCPA, and similar data protection laws, merchants and their end customers have the following rights:
1. Right of access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
2. Right to rectification: request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data;
3. Right to erasure: request deletion of personal data (“right to be forgotten”);
4. Right to restrict processing and right to data portability;
5. Right to withdraw consent: withdraw previously given consent to data processing.
The App implements the Shopify-mandated compliance webhooks (customers/data_request, customers/redact, shop/redact) and responds to or deletes data as required when Shopify forwards a customer request.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Does Sales Agent store my customers' personally identifiable information (PII)?
No. Behavioral events are correlated via the visitorId in the browser cookie. We do not store Shopify customer IDs, names, emails, or phone numbers as PII.
What happens to my data after I uninstall the App?
After uninstallation we receive an app/uninstalled webhook and delete all data related to your store within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
How does the App respond to customer data deletion or export requests?
Shopify forwards requests through the customers/data_request, customers/redact, and shop/redact compliance webhooks. We complete the response or deletion within the required timeframe.
Does the App use Web Pixel to track visitors?
Yes. After merchant authorization, we install a Web Pixel to collect page views, product views, add-to-cart, checkout, and other behavioral events for behavioral analysis and conversion metric computation.
Does the AI chatbot save conversation content?
Yes, conversations are retained for 180 days by default for support assistance and quality improvement. Merchants can contact us to delete specific conversations at any time.
